This week, Rangers posted a video of Vladimir Weiss scoring a brilliant goal against Motherwell on Twitter. The footage was the club’s submission for Goal of the Day.

The 30-year-old is currently playing for Slovan Bratislava, after completing his free transfer away from Al Gharafa a month ago. The winger previously played for the Gers during a loan spell from Manchester City during the 2010/11 season.

The player made a considerable number of appearances for Rangers during this season, making his way onto the field 35 times. He scored five goals for them and assisted a further 15.

When the club posted the video, two fans instantly called for the club to re-sign the player.

According to transfermarkt.com, how many first-team Rangers players are out on loan?

However, there were other fans who were less inclined to see the player return. They either weren’t impressed with Weiss when he was at the club or don’t think he is good enough for a shock return. Another fan even preemptively slated other supporters who might have considered asking for him to return.

What do we think?

The player’s contract with his current side is set to expire at the end of next season. And with him currently out of action with an inguinal hernia, it doesn’t look like the player will be making a move back to Ibrox anytime soon.
