Fans of Rangers have been reacting on Twitter to rumours that Borna Barisic could leave the club this summer, according to the player’s agent.
Barisic, who joined Rangers from NK Osijek in 2018, has been in fine form for the Gers this season, scoring two goals and providing eight assists in 20 Scottish Premier League appearances, as well as a further six assists in European competition.
However, despite signing a new four-year deal in January, the £2.7 million-rated Croatian’s future at the club now appears unclear, after his agent Ives Cakarun spoke out about reported interest in the left-back.
According to the Daily Record, Cakarun stated:
“Rangers won’t be able to keep Borna after the season he’s had, even though he’s just signed a new contract. There was interest in him during the winter transfer window – the strongest came from Napoli, but Rangers turned down all offers because they wanted to keep one of their best players.”
He continued: “But after the season is over and given the demand for Borna, Rangers are sure to start considering new offers. It will be a completely new position for Borna. His performances this season have opened up a whole, new horizon for him.”
In reaction to the news, many Rangers fans have taken to social media, with many stating their belief that if the left-back wishes to leave then they will welcome the money from his transfer.

I love the people on here acting as if this is an interview by Borna, it’s his agent, an agent that makes money when their player moves clubs. Think about it.

What do we think?
Barisic may well be missed by Rangers, as his 14 assists in all competitions this season is a highly impressive figure to reach from left-back.
Even if Rangers were to receive a substantial amount of money for the Croatian international this summer, it is difficult to imagine the club finding a potential suitor who would be able to replicate Barisic’s level of creativity, while also being willing to make the move to the Scottish Premier League.
