Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which NottinghamshireLive relays reports that Forest are ready to sell Portuguese midfielder Joao Carvalho this summer.
Carvalho, who arrived at the City Ground from Benfica in 2018, has made 25 appearances for Forest in all competitions so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
The 23-year-old has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.37 over his 22 Championship appearances for the club, however, he has only started in nine of these fixtures.
The most recent of the attacking midfielder’s starts came in last Friday evening’s disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Millwall, in which Carvalho played 72 minutes, earning a match rating of 6.71.
However, according to recent reports in The Sun on Sunday (via Football League World), Carvalho’s future at the club is now in doubt, with Forest prepared to let him go to Olympiacos for £15m.
In reaction to the news, Forest fans have taken to Twitter, with many stating that they would welcome the departure of the 23-year-old.

Yes. Sell him and add depth to the squad.

Love him, but for £15 million I’d rip their hand off (well, our hand off)

Considering he doesn’t play, which is a shame, why keep him

What do we think?
It appears to be a case of wrong place, wrong time for Carvalho at Forest, as both the impressive form of Tiago Silva – who has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.84 this season – and Sabri Lamouchi’s preference to play without the ball (Forest rank 17th in terms of possession in the league, despite occupying fifth place in the table) – have resulted in the £4.5 million-rated attacking midfielder starting just 24% of Forest’s Championship games this season.
