Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which discusses what the Reds faithful have made of Sammy Ameobi’s performances for the club so far this term.
Ameobi, who arrived at the City Ground from Bolton last summer, has been in fine form for Forest so far this season, scoring three goals and providing eight assists in his 36 Championship appearances.
The £2.7million-rated left-winger has averaged a respectable WhoScored match rating of 6.90 throughout this term, ranking him as Forest’s sixth-best performer so far this season.
Since the former England U21 international’s free transfer from Bolton in 2019, he has been involved in 22% of Nottingham Forest’s Championship goals, and it would appear that his contributions have surprised the Forest fanbase somewhat.
After City Ground HQ tasked Forest fans to describe Ameobi’s performances this season in one word, many Forest fans took to Twitter in order to state their opinion, with some claiming their belief that the 27-year-old is underrated, while others simply commented how pleasantly surprised they were with the winger.

What do we think?
Although Forest fans appear to be surprised at Ameobi’s level of performances, looking back over his previous seasonal WhoScored average match ratings, his current total this season only ranks slightly higher than his average.
The winger has averaged a rating of 6.58 over his 10 seasons in league football, meaning that, this season, Ameobi is achieving a WhoScored rating that is 0.22 (6.90) better per game than his career average.
