Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which discusses whether Joao Carvalho should start Forest’s upcoming Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday.
Carvalho, who arrived at the City Ground from Benfica in 2018, has made 22 Championship appearances for Nottingham Forest so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist, while averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.37.
However, of these 22 fixtures, the £4.5million-rated attacking midfielder has started just nine, primarily due to the fine form of fellow attacking midfielder Tiago Silva, who Sabri Lamouchi has started 29 times this season.
Having said this, Carvalho did start in Forest’s most recent outing, a 3-0 home defeat to Millwall, in which the former Portugal U21 international earned a respectable match rating of 6.71.
In a recent post on Twitter, City Ground HQ posed the question to Forest fans as to whether Carvalho should retain his starting place in Forest’s upcoming fixture against Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday, to which fans wholeheartedly agreed.

he should play in the number 10 role, he played well against millwall but when you concede 3 which realistically is nothing to do with him it’s harsh to take him out the starting 11

What do we think?
Nottingham Forest have staggered in their bid for promotion over their last few games, winning just one of their last six fixtures, ranking them 18th in the Championship form table.
Despite this, Forest remain in the play-off positions, occupying fifth place and five points clear of Bristol City in seventh. However, Sabri Lamouchi’s side will need to address their current run of form, and quickly, should they wish to remain in the top-six come the end of the season.
