Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest comments that veteran captain Scott Brown has made about the Premiership title.
The Hoops midfielder was asked in a recent press conference about what he thinks should happen if the Premiership gets shut down because of coronavirus. Brown replied that if the league does indeed end, it should stay as it is and Celtic should be crowned as champions.
Should Celtic win the title if the Premiership shuts down?
Of course we should
I don't think so
He also said that support of fans is what ‘football is all about’ and it will be ‘sad’ if games are played behind closed doors. Since his comments earlier this week, the SPFL and SFA have moved to suspend all Scottish football until further notice.
When Superscoreboard relayed these comments, many Celtic fans hailed Brown’s comments and agreed with what he said.
Broony’s Right, And I’d Say The Same Even If Rangers Were Top Of The League, No Team Deserves To Lose The Title Because Of The Season Being Cancelled For Something Out Of Our Control.

The league would be void

That’s the only common sense decision if it comes to that, would prefer to see out the season even if behind closed doors though.

The league will need to be awarded or finished for European tournaments next season.

Should end the season at the split and the league table stands would be the sensible decision if it gets that bad

It’s a pity the new Rangers football club (est 2012) did not put up a better challenge to the champions. I think the old Rangers (in liquidation) played better football. ?

Season will get finished, just be no fans to actually watch it though. And Celtic will have won the quadrebel

What do we think?
Since Celtic are 13 points clear at the top of the table, there may not be too many disagreements over handing them the title if the league cannot be completed. But if the Premiership does shut down and everyone finishes wherever they are, it wouldn’t be justice for everyone. Relegation-threatened teams won’t be given the chance of coming out of the drop-zone, for example.
There is only a four-point gap between Hearts and Hamilton, while Ross County and St. Mirren have 29 points each – only two more than Hamilton. Because the lower half of the table is much more congested, it would be unfair if the league ends as it is.
