Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have aired their disbelief over a transfer report which linked the Old Gold with Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez.
According to El Desmarque, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side is interested in Rodriguez, however, have asked Jorge Mendes to help reduce the touted fee of €80 million (£69.8m) for the Colombian (via Talking Wolves), which had supporters in disbelief.
Wolves are reportedly interested in Real Madrid's James Rodriguez and have 'asked' Jorge Mendes to help broker a deal.
The Spanish side reportedly want 80 million euros which Wolves will be hoping that Mendes can help significantly reduce the price. [source: eldesmarque]#WWFC pic.twitter.com/iZ4JT5GWeE

With a year left on his contract the price would surely be 20-30mil max

No more than 40, 50 is the absolute maximum

Be an unreal signing but we’d to be permanently on 532 which would cut Adama completely out the picture

If Wolves could negotiate a £40 million fee for James Rodriguez but be unable to sign any other players in the summer, would you do it?No, we need strengthening elsewhereYes, he would add major quality to us |
Over the duration of the season, the 28-year-old has only been the 13th-best performer in Real Madrid’s squad in La Liga, however, has a solid 6.87/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
The same average rating for Wolves in the Premier League would make Rodriguez the seventh-best performer for the Old Gold (per WhoScored), supporters were having none of it, though.
Overrated

80M€ haha. Apart from WC 2014 , he didn’t do much to be valued that much.

What do we think?
Having had the second-most key passes per game when Rodriguez has played for his La Liga outfit so far this term with two a game on average (per WhoScored), it is clear that the 28-year-old is still talented.
Again, when in comparison to Wolves’ squad, that would also leave the midfielder with the second-most key passes per game, trailing Joao Moutinho, who has 2.2 key passes on average per Premier League outing (per WhoScored).
