Aston Villa fans have flocked to Twitter to call for the club to get rid of manager Dean Smith after their 4-0 thrashing from Leicester City on Monday.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @VillaViews_ shared a post on their page claiming they are “questioning” Smith’s role at the club before adding that he is “utterly deluded” after this latest defeat.
Should Villa sack Dean Smith?
Yes, get someone else in ASAP
No, there's no point now
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not happy with Smith or the team.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans wanting Smith to leave the club:

He needs to go. He is out of his depth big time. JT was one of best defender in the world, but doesnt make him the best coach. Time for them to go

If nothing else, Dean Smith should be sacked for delivering the most cringe-worthy, deluded, inaccurate, and desperate post match interview anyone has seen in years. Takes no responsibility whatsoever not just for this performance but the dozen or so other gutless performances

I am like many other fans fed up of changing Managers & I had hoped that Dean would have been in the job for a long spell, however he is showing signs that the job is far too big for him & along with Suso he should be showed the door, harsh maybe but the Club comes first. ?

Villa fell to their 17th defeat of the season at the King Power Stadium against Brendan Rodgers’ side resulting in them falling into the relegation zone of the Premier League table. After the 4-0 defeat at Leicester, plenty of Villa fans took to Twitter to share their criticisms for Smith.
You’re right, sad to say. Shades of Lambert

Not sad at all… Been saying it for a while now… Smith ain’t no EPL manager, been a fan of the club doesn’t mean nothing…. He’s been found out tonight for some fans that slated me a few weeks back….. Needs to go as soon as possible!!!!

Yep, first time I’ve thought it but it looked like he’d lost the players tonight.

What do we think?
Villa have been poor defensively this season, after the defeat at Leicester, they have now conceded 56 goals, more than any other team in the league so far this year (per BBC Sport). But specifically, the team performance at the King Power was so bad that WhoScored gave them a team rating of just 5.92. This performance in particular, is more than enough reason for the Villa fans to be quite vexed with Smith.
