Hope Martin stays at the club even if in a non playing role he’s clearly one of us and all the players seem to love him. ?

Is it important for the Hammers to have a character like David Martin in the dressing room?Yes, it's importantNo, it is irrelevant |
The 34-year-old ‘keeper has featured in only five games for the Hammers so far this season, during which he has kept two clean sheets and conceded six goals (per Transfermarkt).
Despite Martin’s average rating over the five games leaving the stopper as the eighth-worst performer in the Premier League for the Irons, with a 6.43/10 average rating (per WhoScored), fans still waxed lyrical over the experienced goalkeeper.
What a legend Martyn is. Love that energy.

Credit where it is due, David Martin comes across as a very well liked part of the squad and seems the perfect character to have in and around the squad despite the limited game time that he is subjected to each game by being second choice goalkeeper. Always seems professional.

Like David Martin a lot he’s living the dream earning a couple of grand a week to warm the keepers up and high five players you love to see it

We owe Martin big time he put in a shift when most or the dressing room was in hiding, I remember seeing his Dads debut at villa park, we were in rebuild mode at that time and look how far that squad went

What do we think?
As can be judged from the responses of many supporters, it is clear that there is respect for the experienced stopper despite him only sporadically featuring for the Irons this season (per Transfermarkt).
As many fans remarked on, though, it is great to see that David Moyes has a player like Martin in the dressing room who has the attitude on display in the footage (per West Ham).
