Spurs fans have been reacting to the reported news that Jose Mourinho is eager to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic in the summer transfer window.
According to Spanish news outlet Don Balon per Tutto Sport (via Ricky Sacks), Mourinho is a fan of the Serbian international and is keen on bringing him to the North London club this summer. The young striker has not enjoyed the best of times with Los Blancos since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer; having averaged a disappointing 6.39 rating in his 15 appearances in La Liga.
In his time with Real Madrid, the former Benfica striker has contributed just two goals in all competitions, which is a stark contrast from the form he showed with Frankfurt last season; when he hit 17 goals in the Bundesliga and 10 goals in the Europa League. The 22-year-old is currently valued at £36 million by Transfermarkt but you would expect that the La Liga side would want to recoup the majority of the £54 million they paid for the Serbian last summer.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news on Mourinho’s interest in Jovic can be seen in the tweets below.
This would be ideal. He can play wide, support kane as a 9 or 10 and lead the line if kanes out plus he is almost guaranteed goals

He’d be a great signing but I’m guessing spurs bring in nobody.

Pair? What’s this pair word? You’re only allowed one striker at a club right?

The majority of these Spurs fans seem keen on a move for Jovic, although one fan joked about the number of strikers at the club after Harry Kane’s injury in January left the Lilywhites without a senior striker for nearly three months.
Would Jovic be a good signing for Spurs?
Yes
No
What do we think?
If Jovic can re-discover the form he showed with Frankfurt then he could prove to be an excellent signing for Spurs, although perhaps they should go for a loan deal rather than a permanent one, considering that Madrid will surely not want to make a loss on the £54 million they spent on him last year.
