This week Crystal Palace fans shared their opinions on Gary Cahill. This was prompted by a post shared by @PalaceEaglesc0m asking fans to give their thoughts on the 34-year-old centre-back.
Almost all of the responses to the tweet were positive, with many fans admitting that he was a bargain, making the move to Selhurst Park on a free transfer last summer. They applaud the player who has made 22 appearances in all competitions under Roy Hodgson this season, starting 69% of the Eagles’ Premier League matches. The defender has also recorded himself an assist.
Many of the responses focus on the player’s incredible professional attitude.

What do we think?
Gary Cahill is Crystal Palace’s eighth-best performing player in the league this season. However, two of the players with higher average ratings than him have played less than 10 games.
Cahill himself has an average rating of 6.8/10 in the league, according to WhoScored, and averages 3.9 aerial battles won per Premier League game. Only Christian Benteke averages more for Palace in the Premier League.
