Spurs fans have been reacting to some footage of former forward Clint Dempsey from his time at the North London club.
To celebrate his birthday, LastWordonSpurs posted some footage of the American’s goals during his time with the Lilywhites. The 37-year-old played just 43 games for Spurs in his career; contributing 12 goals and seven assists before moving to Seattle Sounders in the MLS, where he would finish his career.
Considering Spurs’ injury concerns in attack this season, with Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn all currently sidelined, it is no surprise to see some Spurs fans wishing they still had a forward such as Dempsey in their squad.
Was Clint Dempsey allowed to leave too early?

Miss the days’where we signed forwards that could contribute without the 6month pursuit!

These Spurs fans clearly rated Dempsey during his time at the club, with some suggesting that he was allowed to leave too early.
What do we think?
Despite only playing 43 games for Spurs, Dempsey is clearly well-liked by a lot of fans of the North London club and perhaps if the forward hadn’t retired in 2018, perhaps Jose Mourinho would be trying to bring him back to the Premier League.
