Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that Oliver Skipp and the club have entered preliminary talks over a new contract.
According to Football Insider (via The Spurs Web), the North London club have turned their attentions to securing the long-term future of the 19-year-old. So far this season, the academy graduate has made just four appearances in the Premier League; averaging a disappointing 6.13 rating.
However, he was handed consecutive starts against Norwich and Burnley earlier this month, which suggests that Jose Mourinho certainly sees him as a part of his first-team squad. The England U21 international has now made 20 senior appearances for the Lilywhites; contributing zero goals and two assists.

It is a shame that the Premier League was suspended just as Skipp was starting to make an impression, but perhaps if the £7.2-million rated man continues to work hard he can become a key part of Mourinho’s squad next season.
