Some Celtic fans have been left talking by the latest post that La Liga side Athletic Bilbao sent out on Twitter.
The Basque outfit posted some images of when Celtic had faced Bilbao nine years ago. The post had ‘Bilbao-Glasgow connection’ written on it and had images from the game back in 2011.
On seeing this post, many Celtic fans were left raving. They want something like that to happen once again at the San Mames.
Get a friendly sorted when the football returns ???

Right @CelticFC can we extend an invite to @Athletic_en and arrange a friendly once we get back playing. The respect and love shown when we lost our greatest Celt would give us an opportunity to extend our thanks

The game was a friendly that had taken place in March 2011 and it had ended 0-0, but Hoops boss Neil Lennon was sent to the stands. The official Celtic website had named Daryl Murphy as the game’s Man of the Match.
Would you like a friendly against Athletic Bilbao next season?
I'd love that
No need for that
What do we think?
Judging from the comments of the Celtic fans, it does seem as though they really liked the match and the occasion despite it being a 0-0 draw. While it is uncertain whether they can play a similar friendly in Bilbao due to the ongoing pandemic issue, there is always a chance it happens at some point in the future.
