Spurs fans have been reacting to some of Sky Sports’ analysis of Tanguy Ndombele following the 1-1 draw with Burnley last weekend.
The video, which was shared by a Spurs fan on Twitter, after it was originally posted by Sky Sports MNF, shows Jamie Carragher and Sven-Goran Eriksson discussing Jose Mourinho’s criticism of the French midfielder. The 23-year-old earned a disappointing 6.34 rating for his performance at Turf Moor and was replaced at half-time, with Mourinho later suggesting that he had no midfield in the first half.
Despite joining from Lyon in a club-record deal during the summer transfer window, Ndombele has completed 90 minutes just three times in the Premier League so far this season. Unfortunately for the North London club, the French international’s fitness issues have caused problems throughout the season, for example, earlier in the campaign when he was replaced at half-time against Sheffield United due to fatigue.
Do you think Ndombele deserves the criticism he's getting?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the analysis of Ndombele from Eriksson and Carragher can be seen in the tweets below.
Absolutely bang on…. Great ability keeps the ball well, but very very lazy. Looking like a luxury player atm which we can’t afford to have in our side at the moment

My only question is why wont he run? Gifted player but so lazy.

He reminds me of Adebayor; brilliant when he wanted to be, but bone idle most of the time.

OMG how embarrassing, what the hell did Poch see in him, talent with the ball but just not good enough for the prem! Let’s hope he can turn it around, put the work in fgs #Ndombele

I was so excited when we signed him. The lad is so talented, could tear up this league. He’s got the lot going forward with the ball, sadly that’s all thou. Disgraceful when he hasn’t. Not a team player. Would rather see Winks playing and I don’t rate him.

Yes indeed. Depressing for a player of such ability. His teammates won’t be happy.

These Spurs fans clearly seem to agree with Carragher and Eriksson’s analysis of Ndombele and feel that his lack of effort is worrying.
What do we think?
It is strange that a 23-year-old cannot seem to adapt to the pace of the Premier League but if the effort and work-rate isn’t there, then perhaps he will never be able to consistently last 90 minutes in the top flight.
