Spurs fans have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho in the wake of their 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
The 57-year-old manager spoke to the press following their exit in the Champions League and looked ahead to the remaining fixtures in the Premier League. He seems to suggest that Spurs finishing in the top-four spots is very unlikely at this point, saying: “With the squad we have it’s going to be very difficult. We have games ahead and we have to fight. The players need to be very strong to cope with the limitations we have. We are not going to recover any players before Sunday.” per Alasdair Gold
The Portuguese manager is currently without the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Moussa Sissoko, and Steven Bergwijn through injury and is on a run of six games without a win. The North London club are currently in eighth position, seven points off fourth-placed Chelsea, suggesting that they will need a positive result against an in-form Manchester United side on Sunday, who are also hoping to reach the top-four, if they are going to earn a Champions League spot for next season.
Do Spurs have any chance of finishing in the top four?

One game a week and he’s throwing in the towel….

Pathetic management, telling the players they’re not good enough and also giving them and himself an excuse for failure

Same old José… Nothing is ever his fault… does that make his teams believe in him over themselves? We’re currently lacking in either, and believing in no-one

Being negative again and not finding solutions to help the team. Not what he is being paid to do.

Top 4 We’ll be lucky to finish in the Top half of the league at this rate.

So what he is saying is I don’t believe in these playees but hopefully they won’t mind me saying this and will pull a result out the bag for me on Sunday. Deluded.

These Spurs fans are clearly fuming with the quotes from Mourinho and feel he isn’t inspiring much hope in his players.
What do we think?
Mourinho isn’t really doing his players any favours by suggesting they have very little chance of finishing in the top-four but perhaps he wants to avoid a European competition next season so he can focus more on domestic cups and doing well in the Premier League.
