Spurs fans have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho following the 3-2 defeat against Wolves at the weekend.
The Portuguese manager spoke to the press after the game about the result, saying (per Alasdair Gold): “I don’t think it was a fair result. Both teams looking to win. Both with different styles. They are so powerful on the counter-attack. We tried different solutions, without a striker. It worked in a way because we scored two goals.”
The North London club were 2-1 up at half time after goals from Steven Bergwijn and Serge Aurier, but a disappointing second-half display saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s side take all three points following efforts from Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez. The result sees Mourinho’s side slip to seventh in the Premier League table, with the result seriously damaging their hopes of a top-four finish.
Do you agree with Mourinho's quotes on the Wolves game?
Yes, Spurs were unlucky to lose
No, his team selection was poor
Reaction from Spurs fans to Mourinho’s quotes can be seen in the tweets below.
He really needs to stop complaining in every press conference that we don’t have a striker. We know. Figure out a way to make it work with the players we have. Have faith in your own players. Stop complaining.

If u wanted to win why didn’t u put a young hungry striker on earlier. Jose gave him 4 minutes. Terrible management. Levy’s summer transfers and his dealing with Poch has taken the club backwards

Don’t agree with Mourinho here. We all know we are in mass neglect without a striker but that team selection was always ending badly. Worst selection I have seen In a good few years.

These Spurs fans clearly weren’t too impressed with Mourinho’s quotes following the defeat to Wolves.
What do we think?
Mourinho has seemingly blamed the lack of a striker for the defeat but arguably it was defensive mistakes that cost his side the win on Sunday, with 20-year-old Japhet Tanganga earning a 5.77 rating in a disappointing performance which included an error leading to Wolves’ first goal.
