Lots of Spurs fans have been discussing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on Twitter and whether the club should be looking to replace him this summer.
Lloris is currently captain of the North London club but is now 33-years-old and after a disappointing performance in Spurs’ last game against RB Leipzig, it seems as if some fans are ready to see him moved on. The World Cup-winning ‘keeper missed much of the early season after suffering an elbow injury but has impressed in his 12 appearances in the Premier League; averaging a 7.04 rating.
Since signing from Lyon in 2012, the French international has made 316 appearances for the North London club; keeping 108 clean sheets in the process.
Does Lloris need replacing?
Yes
No
A sample of tweets from Spurs fans discussing Lloris can be seen in the tweets below.
Yes, he’s far to inconsistent, we can’t have one game in the CL and he’s a wall and then the next my one year old could net a goal, we at least need competition for him. @RickSpur

He isn’t a ‘revolutionary goalkeeper’! He wouldn’t get in any other Top 6 side. He has saved a few pens recently which is luck. But he’s past it.

Time to move on from him

A big fat yes. Tottenham’s biggest liability. Get Fabia?ski in. Far better keeper.

Yes. Not going to improve at his age.

1,000% way too many errors. His decline has been rapid.

These Spurs fans seem to think that Lloris is past his best and the club should be looking to move him on this summer.
What do we think?
Lloris’ average rating suggests that he is still good enough to be a starting ‘keeper for Spurs, however, the game against RB Leipzig demonstrated that he is prone to mistakes, so perhaps Spurs should be looking for a replacement.
