Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to TranSPURS post on Twitter, which informs that Spurs are monitoring Chelsea’s Willian, who is out of contract with the Blues this summer.

Willian, who joined Chelsea from Anzhi in 2013, has been in fine form for Frank Lampard’s side this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists over his 36 appearances in all competitions, as well as averaging an impressive 7.17 WhoScored match rating in his 27 Premier League matches.

However, the £28.8million-rated right-winger has recently been reported to be at loggerheads with Chelsea over the length of a new contract, with the Brazilian international’s current deal expiring this summer.

Reports suggest that the 31-year-old would sign a new deal with the Blues should they offer him a three-year deal, however, Chelsea are only prepared to offer the winger a further two-years.

As a result of the apparent stalemate between Willian and his club, many clubs are monitoring the player’s situation, including Tottenham, who are reportedly keen on taking the Brazilian on a free this summer.

Following TranSPURS’ post on Twitter relaying the news, Spurs fans flocked to the replies, with many stating that they would not want Willian at the club, even on a free.

What do we think?

Despite Willian’s impressive performances for Chelsea this season, the interest from Tottenham does appear strange.

Spurs are currently without the injured Harry Kane and have only Son Heung-min, who is primarily a wide attacker and is also injured, and Troy Parrott, who Jose Mourinho has previously stated is not ready for first-team football, as back up.

In contrast, Tottenham have Ryan Sessegnon, Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso and Gedson Fernandes who are all capable of playing in attacking midfield.
