A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have ripped into Hugo Lloris after he spoke about Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat in the Champions League to RB Leipzig.
The Spurs captain said that his side lacked ideas and that they could have played all evening and not scored – he then said that they have to accept the situation.
It is fair to say that this has not gone down well with these Spurs fans who are fuming with this statement.
? Hugo Lloris: We lack a few ideas on the pitch. The solution was to score goals. But we could have played all evening… We were already having trouble creating scoring chances, scoring situations. It’s hard, but you have to accept it." pic.twitter.com/naD1KYglSR

No we shouldn’t accept it. Why are we acting like we are a league 2 side suddenly put in the Prem and CL????

Hugo “The Defeatist” Lloris with another inspiring war cry. Previous leaders e.g Dave Mackay, Graham Roberts and Super Gary Mabbutt would be proud ????

Sick of accepting it I’m afraid

Other Tottenham supporters, though, have directed their anger towards Lloris’ performance.
He cracks me up! He’s at fault in every single game.

Need replace this fraud goalkeeper

It’s doesn’t help when our goal keeper can’t keep a easy shot out.

How can he not own his own mistakes? If he’d have done his job and saved both those goals we’d have been in with a chance. Shocking words from Lloris. Thought he was better than that.

Err, Hugo….mate….we lacked a few ideas at the back also? Any chance you could get in the way of a few of these shots?!

What do we think?
The 33-year-old, who is valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, perhaps could have done better for Marcel Sabitzer’s first goal as he got a full hand to the Austrian’s shot but he could only help it into the corner. (0:35)
Do you blame Lloris for the defeat to Leipzig?
Yes, he has to take some of the blame
No, it isn't his fault
Spurs’ latest defeat made it six games in all competitions without a win and Tottenham now only have the league to play for.
This is because they crashed out of both the Champions League and the FA Cup in the space of a week.
In our opinion, Lloris, as captain of the club, should be providing more inspiring messages than this one.
