Spurs fans have been reacting to a post on Eric Dier, as the club replayed a win against Manchester City from 2015 on their Twitter.
Dier equalised that day with a fierce strike from outside the area in a game that the North London side would go on to win 4-1 and a lot of Spurs fans flocked to the tweet describing the Englishman’s goal. Spurs signed Dier from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and in the six years since, he has represented the Lilywhites on 235 occasions.
The 2015/16 season, when Spurs beat the Citizens 4-1, was perhaps Dier’s best so far in the Premier League, as he averaged an impressive 7.06 rating across 37 appearances in the Premier League. Unfortunately, his performances this season have not been on that level, as he has averaged a disappointing 6.63 rating in the Premier League.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed re-living Dier’s goal from 2015, although some supporters took the opportunity to joke about what Dier might be like in 2020.
What do we think?
Dier has never really been able to re-discover his form from the 2014/15 season, but with recent reports suggesting that he will be featuring as a centre-back from now on, perhaps we will soon see him back at his best.
