A group of Liverpool fans have been discussing who is their best full-back in the Premier League era and it came down to a choice between Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Supporters were casting their votes on Anfield Edition’s Twitter poll and here is what some of them had to say.
Both amazing going forward but Robbo is a better defender

Robertson is the better all round fullback but Trent is more suited to our style of play

Robbo is infinitely better. Trent has a flawless delivery, but robbo does too, and he’s relentless going both ways. This is a horrible poll

Robbo more complete both offensively and defensively

Robertson better overall but TAA gets the plaudits

This was probably the hardest poll I’ve voted in.

Who is the more complete full-back?
Robertson
Alexander-Arnold
What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that there are many of the view that Robertson is the more complete full-back of the pair. Robertson has made 28 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring once and providing seven assists up until now.
The Scotland international’s average performance rating in the league currently stands at 7.12/10 (via WhoScored.com) and he’s valued at £72m.
Alexander-Arnold has made 29 appearances in the Premier League this season and he’s managed two goals and 12 assists to date. He is currently valued at £99m (via Transfermarkt.com) and his average performance rating is 7.30/10.
Statistically, it’s difficult to separate the pair and therefore in the case of many, it comes down to a matter of opinion.
