Spurs fans have been discussing Eric Dier after it was suggested that Jose Mourinho is set to regularly deploy the 26-year-old at centre-back when football eventually resumes.
According to Football Insider (via Ricky Sacks), the former Sporting Lisbon man will be given the opportunity to make the centre-back position his own when we return from the current Premier League suspension. The England international featured in defence in each of Spurs’ last four games in all competitions and despite struggling there against RB Leipzig, it seems as if Mourinho will continue to put his faith in him as a centre-back.
So far this season, Dier has made 14 appearances in the Premier League, averaging a disappointing 6.63 rating but with an extended run in the side in his self-proclaimed favoured position, perhaps we could see his performances improve.
Where is Dier's best position?

Would much rather see him make CB position his own at a club like WBA or Watford where his talent level is better suited for.
There should be no place for Dier in a Tottenham club even with the injuries. He is the 6th best CB at the club right now.

Other Spurs fans were more supportive of the decision, however.

It seems that Spurs fans are split on the news that the £22.5 million rated man will potentially be featuring more regularly as a centre-back for the remaining games this season.
What do we think?
Mourinho has favoured a three-at-the-back formation in recent fixtures, which suggests that if Dier continues to feature there, one of Toby Alderweireld, Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez will find themselves on the bench.
