Spurs fans have been discussing whether a fit Mousa Dembele would have made in last year’s Champions League final against Liverpool.

Spurs fan LJohnson quoted Alasdair Gold’s tweet about decisions which they would change from the past year, suggesting that the club should not have sold the Belgian midfielder and that he could have made the difference in the final in Madrid. The former Fulham man joined up with Chinese side Guangzhou R & F in January of last year, having made 249 appearances for the North London club after joining in 2012.

These Spurs fans don’t seem to agree that Dembele would have made a difference in the final, suggesting that he was way past his best by that point.

What do we think?

Dembele struggled with injuries in the latter part of his time at Spurs, which was no doubt a significant factor in him moving away and it seems as if these fans seem to think that by that point he was no longer the player he once was, and therefore wouldn’t have made much difference.
