Some Southampton fans have reacted to a post about midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on Twitter.
A Saints-related account sent out a post about Hojbjerg supposedly signing a new contract at the club till the summer of 2024. The post had a mocked-up image of Hojbjerg with Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, with the Danish midfielder signing a contract.
Do you want Hojbjerg to stay?
He can leave
He has to stay!
Many Southampton fans read this parody post and admitted to not falling for it. Some of the others reacted indifferently.
Just stop this now

Football Insider recently reported that Hojbjerg had rejected a new contract offer from Southampton as he recently joined forces with super-agent Pini Zahavi. The report went onto say that Hojbjerg is looking to move to a bigger club, with Tottenham interested in him.
What do we think?
Sky Italia’s Gianluca di Marzio (via Sky Sports) had also stated that even Everton wanted Hojbjerg in January. The whole situation suggests that Southampton fans haven’t been enjoying having the former Bayern Munich midfielder’s future at St. Mary’s up in the air.
The Daily Echo previously reported that the midfielder hadn’t turned a new contract down, despite reports saying otherwise. This proves that the situation is uncertain and no one knows what is going on, while the comments of the Saints fans suggest that some of them won’t like the Dane to sign a new deal.
