Some Southampton fans have been left talking by the latest video that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg put out on social media recently.
The Danish midfielder recently posted the video, saying that ‘think I’m missing football’. The video had the Saints star dialling random numbers on the phone to suggest how much he misses playing the game.
This left many Southampton fans talking. Some of them made it clear that they want to see Hojbjerg sign a new deal soon. One fan felt if the video was a sign if Hojbjerg is joining Tottenham.

Southampton had signed Hojbjerg in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £12.8 million. This season, the Dane has been the club’s third-best performer in the Premier League (per Whoscored). He has made 28 appearances in all competitions, racking up one assist from midfield.
He has won 2.4 tackles per game, also making 1.5 interceptions per game for the club.

Hojbjerg was recently the centre of transfer speculation. Football Insider recently reported that he had turned down the chance to sign a new contract at the club. Sky Sports had reported in January that Tottenham are interested in signing the former Bayern Munich man.
This shows that Hojbjerg’s future is far from secure. The comments of the Saints fans show that they do want the midfielder to sign a new deal.
