A lot of Newcastle United fans have rushed to comment on a post from Mark Douglas – as he picked his worst Newcastle United squad of the past decade.
The Evening Chronicle reporter was asked to pick a 25-man squad of the worst Toon players, and his post has attracted quite a lot of replies from many Newcastle fans.
The only two I hesitated with were Jak Alnwick (maybe unfair?) and Haidara (injury problems).
The rest? Sorry, deserved! https://t.co/RzV8FAUguj

Many good ones there. Missing the main man though. Pardew’s favourite Obertan.

Harsh on Sadio that imo. The rest spot on

Harsh on Thauvin – he was hardly given a chance. Alan Smith should walk into that team, especially for the money forked out for him. No goals and a yellow or red card in numerous games. Forgot about Duff, he was awful.

Seen alot worse than some of them

Lazaar????? Another of Rafa’s disasters In the market. I loved Rafa by the way but some of his signings were not up to it…..Selz, Hanley, Gamez, Jacob Murphy, Joselu, Muto!!!! But Lazaar was by far the worst ?????

Other Toon supporters have a particular hatred of Jak Alnwick.
Come on, Alnwick was useless and out of hz depth (even if you know his uncle is a decent chap etc)

We would’ve been better putting a carrier bag in goal than Jak Alnwick

What do we think?
This list includes some players who have gone on to have success elsewhere – Florian Thauvin, for example, has won the World Cup with France and scored 63 goals since leaving Tyneside.
Do you agree with Douglas' squad?
Yes, spot on
No, I would make some changes
Other players on the list were successful before they joined Newcastle – Sol Campbell, for example, was part of Arsenal’s 2003/04 squad that went the entire league season unbeaten.
Other like Alnwick just weren’t cut out for the Premier League (According to Douglas).
However, what all these players have in common is that for the Toon, they weren’t good enough.
We think this list might bring back some bad memories for some Newcastle fans.
