A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Craig Hope’s tweet about Joelinton.
The Daily Mail reporter called the Brazilian the ‘worst piece of business any PL club has done for a long time’.
Who has adapted to the Premier League better?
Joelinton
Haller
He then followed this up by saying that ‘serious questions need to be asked’.
This has caused many Toon fans to question the validity of the deal.
Bruce again made the Haller comparison on Saturday. After Haller had just scored his 7th PL goal of season. There is no comparison to Joelinton. He is the stand alone worst piece of business any PL club has done for a long time. Serious questions need to be asked internally. https://t.co/hbqLGm1egi

Stand alone, pound for pound he’s the worst signing in nufc history. I’ve seen far worse players but none of them cost £40m and were shot shy

Sounds like a Dennis wise deal ?

Why was Ashley so keen to buy him? He even offered to put £20 million of his own money in when Rafa said he wasn’t worth £40 million. A lot of questions need to be asked about Steve Nickson and that muppet Lee Charnley

I reckon the #Joelinton deal is just one in a long line of shady deals done by this lot. There are multiple questions need asking

Rafa knocked him back for 20, then we end up paying 40. Stinks of something dodgy.

The deal absolutely stinks, wouldn’t be surprised if we found it under investigation for some reason down the line

If this Joelinton deal wasn’t a ‘Favour for an agent’ i’ll stand tapping!

Ask why Ashley was so desperate to sign him he was willing to put in £20m of his own money. The whole thing stinks.

Whole deal stinks to be honest.

What do we think?
Steve Bruce compared Joelinton to West Ham’s Sebastien Haller after the 23-year-old went another game without a Premier League goal – making it 25 games without scoring in the top flight.
Haller, meanwhile, has scored seven goals in the Premier League, and though he did endure a goal drought of eight matches, he has still scored six more league goals than Joelinton, and the Frenchman cost around £5 million more.
Newcastle paid £40m for Joelinton, and at the moment, that return has brought one league goal.
Is that good enough?
In our opinion, it is not.
