A lot of Newcastle United fans flocked to a post from Alan Shearer during the Toon’s 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.
Shearer tweeted during the game with Newcastle looking to be going through to the next round, but the Baggies pulled a goal back soon after (9:51), and some Toon supporters were worried that Shearer had jinxed them.

However, Newcastle saw off the late challenge from the Baggies to move into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup – which delighted these Toon fans.

What do we think?
Newcastle were cruising thanks to a double from Miguel Almiron and a Valentino Lazaro strike until a Matt Phillips goal and a late Kenneth Zohore strike made it a bit tense, but the Toon hung on and sent their away fans home delighted.
Newcastle are currently five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League, but this cup run could provide them with a bit of relief.
Judging by this tweet, Shearer was delighted with Newcastle’s progression in the FA Cup, and they will now wait to see who they are drawn against.
