The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the final at Wembley against Pep Guardiola’s side, earning himself a match rating of 6.1, the joint lowest of any Villa player that started the match (per WhoScored). Despite the defeat and the poor performance from the skipper, Grealish’s post after the match still gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who shared their positivity and support for the Englishman.
Our skipper.
Jack, I was devastated at the end. You looked like you knew it was your last shot with the Villa.
If we stay up, please give us another year. If the owners are as ambitious as they say, you’ll be challenging again in three years.
