Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports stating that Raheem Sterling is the eighth best-paid footballer in the world.

According to reports in French publication France Football (via Sport Witness), Raheem Sterling earns around €33.8million (£31.4million) per year, which is broken down through his €18.5million (£17.1million) yearly wages, plus his €2.3million (£2.1million) in bonuses, in addition to €13million (£12.1million) of advertising contracts.

According to WhoScored, who is City's top Premier League goalscorer so far this season?

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to share their opinion on the matter, with many stating their belief that Sterling is not worth the amount of money that City are paying him, while others have suggested that it may be time to move the winger on.

What do we think?

Although many City fans apparently believe that Sterling is not worth the money he is paid, his stats remain impressive throughout his time with the club.

Since arriving from Liverpool in 2015, the £144million-rated 25-year-old has scored 89 goals and provided 72 assists in his 230 appearances, winning two Premier League titles, four League Cups, one FA Cup, and has been named the English Footballer of the Year.

As such, it is difficult to argue that Sterling has not been a success at City.
