Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which highlights some of Edin Dzeko’s best goals during his time at the club.

Dzeko, who arrived at Manchester City from VfL Wolfsburg in 2011, has been in fine form for his current club, AS Roma, so far this season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 25 Serie A appearances, in addition to a further three goals and assists in his seven Europa League fixtures.

In his time at City, the Bosnian centre-forward scored 72 times and provided 39 assists in 189 appearances, helping the club win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups and one Community Shield.

As a result of the 34-year-old’s success at Manchester City, the club recently took the time to wish their former striker a happy birthday on Twitter, accompanied by footage highlighting a few of Dzeko’s best finishes while playing for City.

In reaction to the post, fans of Manchester City replied in their droves, with many reminiscing over the forward’s time with the club, while others simply joined the club in sending Dzeko their birthday well-wishes.

What do we think?

Wherever Edin Dzeko has played, his impressive goal record has followed.

At Wolfsburg, he scored 85 goals and provided 35 assists in 142 appearances, while at his current club, Roma, he has bagged 102 goals and set up a further 45 in his 211 fixtures. In addition to this, he has also been capped 107 times for Bosnia-Herzegovina, scoring 58 times.

Although his record at City, of 72 goals in 189 appearances, is actually his worst return for clubs that Dzeko has made more than 100 appearances, his contributions in the 2011/12 season, which saw City win their first top-flight title for 44 years, is likely to be one of the many reasons that fans remember the Bosnian fondly.
