Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that David Silva could make an emotional return to Valencia this summer when he leaves Manchester City.

According to reports by Spanish publication Fichajes, both Las Palmas and Valencia are interested in signing the 34-year-old attacking midfielder once he has departed Manchester City at the end of his current contract.

Manchester City achieved what was then their best ever Premier League finish in the 2009/10 season. What position did they finish?

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by City Chief on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating how devastated they are to see Silva leave.

What do we think?

Silva has been a magnificent servant to Manchester City over his 10 seasons with the club, scoring 74 goals and providing 137 assists in 424 appearances.

Despite his advancing years, the former Spain international has still been in fine form this season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists over his 19 Premier League fixtures, while averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.15 in the top flight.

As such, it is evident that the 34-year-old still has plenty left in his tank, and while City fans are sad to see Silva leave, it appears that the £13.5 million-rated man will not be retiring any time soon.
