Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claim Manchester City bosses have compiled a shortlist of managers to replace Pep Guardiola in the event that the Spaniard leaves the club.
According to recent reports in The Athletic, Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain – City’s CEO and director of football respectively – are already looking for potential replacements for Guardiola, and have concluded that there are only three to six managers in the world who could follow the Spaniard and take on City’s philosophy.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by City Chief on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino would be best suited for the job, while others have questioned whether Guardiola is planning on leaving City in the near future.

What do we think?
Guardiola is widely considered to be one of the greatest coaches in the game, with AS reporting in 2019 that the Spaniard was ranked as the best manager in the world following the 2018/19 season, according to a study by Coach Reputation Ranking.
In his time at City, the former Barcelona player has won two Premier League titles, two League Cups, one FA Cup, and two Community Shields.
As such, it is easy to see why the City bosses may believe that there are very few candidates who would be fit to take the reins from Guardiola, and why some City fans are so concerned over the idea of their coach leaving the club sooner rather than later.
