Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter which claims that should City fail to overturn their ban from European competition, they would be willing to let Sergio Aguero leave the club this summer.
Aguero, who signed for City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, has been in magnificent form for the Citizens so far this season, scoring 23 goals over 30 appearances in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 31-year-old has averaged an impressive 7.20 WhoScored match rating in his 22 Premier League fixtures so far this term, and is the club’s top scorer in the competition, with 16 goals.
However, following the news that Manchester City are facing a two-year European football ban after they were found to have seriously misled UEFA and broken financial fair play rules, The Sun reports that should Aguero wish to leave the club this summer, then the striker would be free to go.
The news was relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, and in reaction, City fans flocked to the replies, with many stating their disbelief at the news, while others commented on how disappointed they would be to see their £58.5 million-rated man leave the club.
Manchester City are willing to let Sergio Aguero leave this summer, if they fail to overturn their European ban.
City are grateful for the nine years of exceptional service and would find it hard to turn him down if he asked to leave in search of UCL football.

Ha he’d never do that. Sun trying to tarnish his legacy. Choosing a season in the CL over his City career is ridiculous nonsense

It’s the sun but if we do get banned I would 100 let Aguero and KDB go it’s unfair to them and they’re careers for them to not have a chance at Ucl

I’d be absolutely heartbroken. This UCL should be the absolute most important of priorities. I hope and pray that Pep understands this Champions league chase could recourse the entire future of the club.

What do we think?
Regardless of whether Aguero leaves City this summer, he has been a magnificent servant to the club over his nine years in Manchester.
The Argentinan international has won four Premier League titles, five League Cups, one FA Cup and three Community Shields, as well as winning the Premier League Golden Boot and being the league’s all-time top overseas goalscorer.
