Following the postponement of Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal, Liverpool can no longer clinch the Premier League title before they next kick a ball. The current champions were scheduled to face Mikel Arteta’s side, but after it was discovered Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis tested positive for coronavirus, the decision was taken to rearrange the game.
Marinakis came into contact with a number of Arsenal players and staff members after his Olympiacos team visited the Emirates Stadium last month. Although the fixture in question doesn’t directly involve Jurgen Klopp’s side, it has implications on the Reds who had hoped to wrap up the title prior to Monday’s Merseyside derby.
Results against the Gunners and Saturday’s opponents Burnley could have made Liverpool champions before their trip to Goodison Park.
Would you prefer to see Liverpool clinch the title at Anfield?
Yes
No
So how are these fans feeling regarding the fact that a title party this weekend is no longer possible?
That’s okay we will do it at home vs Palace much nicer.

No need to rush these things. 3 points on Monday is all that matters.

What do we think?
Assuming nothing changes in regards to the protocol around the coronavirus, some of these Liverpool fans would prefer to clinch the trophy at Anfield in front of their own supporters. However, following the suspension of all sport in Italy and the Spanish authorities ordering that upcoming La Liga fixtures be played behind closed doors, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Premier League take some form of action in the coming days.
