Liverpool have been knocked out of this season’s FA Cup by Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. The Reds made several changes to the side that suffered defeat at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley’s ferocious strike sealed their elimination.
With the Reds chasing the game midfielder Adam Lallana was withdrawn from the field, and was singled out by the Anfield faithful for criticism as he was substituted late on during their cup exit at Stamford Bridge.
These Reds fans took to social media to criticise the former Southampton star’s performance.
Will Liverpool offload Adam Lallana this summer?
Yes
No
The only evidence that Lallana was on the pitch.#anonymous

Predictable, no plan B. We need better alternate starters. Origi and Lallana not good enough, Neco and Curtis still young. Not gonna lie. I hate losing. #LFC

Hardly a surprise when you see the starting line up… looked toothless again and vulnerable at the back again surely Chamberlain offers more than lallana whose legs have gone

lallana looks finished

Glad we’re getting rid of lallana and lovren in the summer

Does Adam Lallana actually know how to tackle a player without just bundling into him and taking him down for a foul?

Lallana – Ineffective. His LFC career is coming to an unspectacular end. Reflects his career with us. 5

Let’s just agree to take lallana off now and terminate his contract early? Thanks

On the bright side Lallana has played his last game for the club.
(I don’t actually believe this)

What do we think?
Adam Lallana was replaced approximately 10 minutes from time by Mohamed Salah and according to WhoScored.com, the 31-year-old’s display earned him a performance rating of 6.83/10, meaning he was rated higher than both Fabinho and Curtis Jones who played alongside him in the midfield. However, these fans were far from impressed by Lallana and certainly didn’t hold back on Twitter.
The £10.8m-rated midfielder has made just 21 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season and his current contract is set to expire this June although there is an option to extend it by a further year (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). However, given his bit-part role of late, we believe it’s unlikely he’ll be a Liverpool player at the start of next season.
