Liverpool were dumped out of the FA Cup on Tuesday night by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues took the lead when after some sloppy play, Adrian failed to make what should have been a routine save and Willian’s shot crept in. The Premier League leaders’ fate was sealed when Ross Barkley burst forward and fired home to double Chelsea’s lead. Jurgen Klopp made several changes to the side that recently lost at Watford, one of which was the inclusion of Divock Origi from the start.
Is Divock Origi wasted on the flank?
Yes
No
These Liverpool fans took to social media to criticise the 24-year-old’s display – but some also made the point he’s being played out of position.
Either play him through the middle or not at all.
Divock Origi is not a winger.

I love him but he’s not good enough, especially played of the left

Keeps getting played on the wing and never does anything. Should only be used as a centre forward

Yes he did. He and Lalana left Fabhino to defend the CFC press on his own. He missed Hendo and Wiji hugely. Jones should of played left wing as Origi is officially now stealing a wage.

Origi’s stealing a living, UCL run saving his LFC career

Think he’s done tbh. Thought he’d kick on this season, but he getting worse tbh.

Loses the ball too much on the wing. Hes better through the middle put through on goal. Not a starter. On borrowed time

Awful, fraud. Sell.

not good enough. our level of football is above him.

Super sub only. If he starts, should be down the middle

What do we think?
Divock Origi’s performance versus Chelsea earned him a performance rating of 6.28/10 (via WhoScored.com). So far this season, Origi has made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
With Origi under-performing here and the likes of Timo Werner being linked with an Anfield move, maybe some fans are right to suggest that the Belgian is not good enough to lead the line for the Reds.
Perhaps Liverpool are indeed operating at a level above Origi’s capabilities, but we believe he’d be a great addition to most other Premier League sides and the Reds could still command in the region of £18m for the former Lille striker if his current market value is anything to go by.
