Liverpool’s hopes of going the entire Premier League season unbeaten were ended abruptly by Nigel Pearson’s Watford despite the Reds being 52 points ahead of the Hornets even after the weekend’s result. Ismaila Sarr scored twice in six minutes before Troy Deeney added a third to put the result beyond doubt leaving many shocked.
Jurgen Klopp’s side survived a scare earlier on in the week when West Ham United came from behind to take the lead at Anfield through Pablo Fornals before goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane preserved the run.
Was Dejan Lovren to blame for the Watford defeat?
Yes
No
Dejan Lovren started in the centre of the defence alongside Virgil van Dijk at the weekend and his boss defended his performance when faced with the media post-match (via BBC Sport). What did the fans make of the German’s comments?
Well I can help Klopp if he can’t see Lovren was 100% at fault.

He should have left with karius

If Klopp can’t admit that he was wrong in his team selection by picking Lovren especially when Gomez wasn’t injured as he later explained then he is also part of the problem.

This is sickness man. You’re right. Lovren is not to be blamed. You are the one to be blamed since you’re picking him ahead of Matip.

Whole team was at fault but they is no denying it that he played a massive part.
Stupid fouls, bullied, negative play when he did go forward it was hit and hope up field.Team see his name on the sheet and no right away they is a massive weak area to challenge.

What do we think?
According to WhoScored.com, Dejan Lovren’s performance rating was 6.5/10. Contrary to the views expressed above, he was rated higher than all of the rest of the Liverpool defenders that evening with Trent Alexander-Arnold earning an embarrassing rating of 4.8/10 and so perhaps Jurgen Klopp has a point.
