Liverpool fans have been responding on Twitter to comment made by former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnythingLFC shared a post on their page that included the quotes made by the Englishman on the Wayne Rooney Podcast last year.

The Englishman said he can “accept” Liverpool winning the Champions League but says it would be a “disaster” if they won the Premier League before adding how much he hates the club.

Which would be the biggest achievement?

This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were keen to share their reactions to these comments.

Who were Liverpool scheduled to play this Monday?

The former Everton and Manchester United man, who is valued at £2.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), is currently a player-coach at Championship side Derby County. Now that an old quote from Rooney expressing his hatred for Liverpool and his fear of seeing the Reds lift a Premier League title have resurfaced on Twitter, this has given lots of Liverpool fans the opportunity to share their replies.

What do we think?

With Liverpool so close to clinching the Premier League title, it comes as no surprise that the fans have been reacting to Rooney’s comments again. Any opportunity to laugh at a player that played for Liverpool’s two rival teams, they will undoubtedly take it.
