That is a shame; but I’m sure he’ll have plenty more opportunities to play for us in the cup in years to come.

The 16-year-old has made three appearances in the FA Cup so far this season in the senior team but has failed to score a goal or provide an assist in the competition (per Transfermarkt). Now that Klopp has revealed that Elliott will play no part in the Reds’ upcoming FA Cup showdown with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side, despite his uninspiring record in the competition, some Liverpool fans have been left disappointed with the news. However, other fans have taken the news as an inclination that Klopp will field a strong side at Stamford Bridge.

What do we think?
The fact that some Liverpool fans have been disheartened by the fact that Elliott will not be making his next appearance in the FA Cup later tonight shows just how much the fans want to see him play in the senior team. This would surely be a huge boost for Elliott’s confidence knowing just how much faith and belief the Liverpool fans in him to succeed in the senior squad.
