So long as there are no further postponements, Liverpool’s next game will be at the Etihad Stadium versus Manchester City on Sunday 5th April. If the Reds were to win that fixture, they would clinch the title at the home of their rivals, according to James Pearce of the Athletic.
It was announced on Friday morning that the Premier League will be suspended until the 3rd of April at the earliest. That news comes after Arsenal Head Coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the recent viral outbreak.
Will the fixture versus Manchester City go ahead as planned?
Yes
No
In response to James Pearce’s tweet, here is how some of the supporters have responded.
Even behind closed doors that’d be nice

And Alisson will be back

No chance it doesn’t get suspended again. Peak of the virus will be in May. More players and staff will get it. Further suspension and then voided in May which would destroy the integrity of the league. Re-start it in Autumn if needed.

It will be though. Let’s be honest about this. This decision was only made to give the@ more time to decide what to do if the season can’t finish

What do we think?
Whilst some are excited by the prospect of being able to clinch the title at Manchester City others remain doubtful in regards to whether or not the fixture will go ahead. The situation regarding the outbreak is constantly evolving at an extremely fast pace. On Thursday, the UK government stated there was no reason at present to cancel mass gatherings such as sporting events and on Friday the Premier League was suspended.
