Liverpool have been handed a huge boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League tie versus Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Jordan Henderson could be in contention to feature for the Reds (via The Evening Standard) as they look to overturn the 1-0 defeat they suffered at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The midfielder has been sidelined since he picked up a hamstring injury during the first leg and was forced off after 80 minutes. When asked whether his captain could be available for that vital fixture Klopp responded by saying: “Yeah, but not for Bournemouth”.
Will Jordan Henderson start versus Atletico Madrid?

These Liverpool fans have taken great encouragement from the boss’ update.

What do we think?
Henderson captained the Reds when they triumphed in last season’s UEFA Champions League final and given that Liverpool’s form has dropped off in recent weeks, you can understand why these fans are desperate to see him return. Before they take on Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, the Reds face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday as they look to return to winning ways.
