Liverpool fans have been making their feelings on Twitter known over a potential transfer move for Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell.

This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by The Athletic via The Mirror that the Reds are “stepping up their efforts” to sign the Englishman this summer.

Would Todd Cantwell be a good replacement for Adam Lallana?

Yes

Yes

No

No

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were mostly adamant they would not like to see Cantwell join their club this summer.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

The 22-year-old has been Norwich’s seventh-best player so far this campaign with a season rating of 6.73, according to WhoScored. In 28 Premier League appearances, the Englishman, who is currently valued at £13.5 million according to Transfermarkt, has scored six goals and provided two assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that it has been reported that Liverpool are interested in bringing Cantwell to Anfield this summer to replace Adam Lallana, there have been some Reds fans who aren’t convinced Cantwell is the right man for the club.

What do we think?

While Cantwell may not have the best goals and assists record in the Premier League this season, his efforts for Norwich have seen him become a significant player for the Canaries this season. However, it seems as though not many Liverpool fans are convinced by Cantwell becoming an important summer signing for the club at the end of the season.
