Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina played for Aston Villa on Monday night during their heavy defeat at the hands of Leicester City. The veteran goalkeeper came rushing out of his penalty area in order to confront Harvey Barnes but the 22-year-old skipped past his challenge before firing home to put the Foxes in front.

Reina won both the domestic cups here in England during his time at Anfield and tasted World Cup and European Championship glory with Spain during what has been a distinguished career. However, at the age of 37 and after such a high-profile error there will likely be much debate around whether or not the Madrid born stopper is still up to the task of performing at the top level.

Does Pepe Reina still have something to offer to the Premier League?

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 55 league games at Anfield. Only one team have had a longer unbeaten run (86 games) at home in Premier League history - who is it?

What do we think?

Reina’s poor and costly display resulted in him earning a performance rating of 4.7/10 according to WhoScored.com and even that, in our view seems generous.
