Some Leicester City fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Foxes-focused Twitter account @LiveLCFC, which shares recent reports linking the Foxes with a move for Philippe Coutinho.

The Daily Mirror recently reported that Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers, who previously signed Coutinho during his tenure as Liverpool boss, “would love to work with the midfielder again”, while the Daily Express has relayed these reports, declaring that the Foxes “are interested in making a surprise move” for the Brazilian playmaker.

What do we think?

After joining Liverpool in January 2013, Coutinho played under Rodgers for the entirety of two separate Premier League campaigns as a Reds player, before Rodgers was sacked as Liverpool manager in October 2015. Considering that Rodgers has previously signed the Brazilian playmaker, it may be understandable why he and his current club Leicester City have been linked with a move for Coutinho amid reports that he “will be sold by Barcelona”.

However, the Daily Express reports that “Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal have all been linked” with Coutinho lately. As a result of the alleged existence of interest from multiple English clubs in bringing the 27-year-old back to the Premier League, in addition to Barcelona’s reported asking price of over £100m, it may also be understandable why some Foxes supporters have shared their view that the club may be unlikely to complete this signing.
