Would you like to see Leighton Baines be given a player/coach contract? No, he's not ready to coachYes, would be a great idea |
The 35-year-old left-back has been with the Toffees since 2007, when he signed on the dotted line at Goodison Park from Wigan Athletic for a fee in the region of £6 million (as per BBC).
Since then, the experienced full-back has featured in 417 games for the Toffees, during which he has bagged an impressive 39 goals and 67 assists (per Transfermarkt), leaving fans ecstatic that he may be signing for another season.

What do we think?
Despite only featuring in five Premier League games for the Toffees this season, Baines has become the sixth-best performer for the Goodison Park club in the league, with a solid 6.78/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
So, it seems understandable that supporters are delighted to hear that the club have an interest in retaining the Englishman and “are going to talk with him” (as per Everton).
