Supporters of Everton have been discussing Chelsea’s Ross Barkley after The Athletic journalist Greg O’Keeffe tweeted about the Englishman.

Following Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup, during which the former Everton man bagged the second (per BBC), the journalist shared his thoughts on the 26-year-old (per Greg O’Keeffe), which had supporters following suit.
That Ross Barkley goal; the big run from deep and explosive finish is everything he should be at his best when he doesn’t overthink things . Point him towards goal and let him surge and he’s brilliant. Ask him to do other things and it gets harder #EFC

a player that was poorly managed by the likes of Martinez and Koeman. Also given extremely poor advice by his agent.
All the ability in the world, would have thrived under a Guardiola or Klopp, a manager that would’ve instilled both belief and workrate in his game.

Spot on…explosive when playing on pure instinct, painful to watch when he has to stop and think, you can see the confidence drain from him.

Always said he was an instinctive player. Give him 4 options tho and he’d pick a fifth.

Would you be happy to see Ross Barkley re-sign for Everton one day?Yes, all would be forgivenNo, he burnt his bridges |
Having graduated through the ranks at Goodison Park, the midfielder departed Merseyside in January 2018 in a £15 million switch to Stamford Bridge (per BBC).
While with the Toffees, Barkley featured in 179 appearances, during which he scored 27 goals and assisted 28 (per Transfermarkt), however, fans still aired that they are unimpressed by the 26-year-old.
Unfortunately for him, he’s completely thick.
He probably still thinks he’s a youngster with plenty of time to realise his potential.
He’ll be at West Ham or Newcastle next season.

He makes poor decisions generally, that’s his biggest weakness. When he makes the right one, he’s fantastic.

Ross is at his best when hes instinctive … has ability.
His difficulty comes when he got too much time to think or asked to do a job that’s alien to his game.— Paul (@goodysonx74) March 3, 2020
Unfortunately Martinez stopped him becoming Gerrard-esque.
Turned him from ball wining CM who can tackle and run at players to a half fancy number 10 with a neat little turn here and there— Cliff Jones (@whizz179) March 4, 2020
What do we think?
Having only sporadically featured for Frank Lampard’s outfit in the league so far this season (per Transfermarkt), it is clear to see that supporters believe that Barkley has wasted the talent that gave him huge potential.
With the English midfielder having been the Blues’ eighth-worst performer in the Premier League when he has featured, with a 6.66/10 average rating (per WhoScored), it is also clear that Barkley is struggling for consistent form.
