Supporters of Everton have been reacting to transfer talk which linked the Toffees with Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze.
In a column for SPORTBUZZER, Michael Rummenigge suggested that the German national could join a club ‘like’ Everton or West Ham United (via @TheGwladysStreet), which had many fans unhappy.

Over the duration of the season so far, the 27-year-old has been the seventh-worst performer for Dortmund in the Bundesliga with a 6.49/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
Having bagged three goals and no assists in 13 appearances in the league to earn the rating (per WhoScored), Everton fans continued to air their displeasure with the transfer talk.

What do we think?
As can be judged from the responses, while some fans stated that they do not want the player, more were frustrated by the notion that the Toffees and West Ham are similar clubs.
However, with Everton’s squad holding a higher market value (£454.23m) than the Hammers’ (£316.58m) according to Transfermarkt, perhaps it is clear that the Merseyside club should be held in higher regard.
