Crystal Palace were reminded of a historic win over Arsenal after the club posted footage of the Eagles beating the Gunners on Twitter. The game took place during the 2016/17 season, and saw Palace win 3-0.

The win also helped Palace extended the gap between themselves and the relegation zone.

Palace player Andros Townsend re-tweeted the highlights, claiming that it was his favourite home game while playing in a Crystal Palace shirt. Townsend, of course, used to play for Arsenal’s bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

However, when the player shared the footage, many fans were more focused on Yohan Cabaye. The Frenchman scored the second goal during the victory.

Their responses suggest that they would gladly welcome the midfielder back to Selhurst Park in an instant.

The 34-year-old is currently playing for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 right now. He only scored 10 goals for Palace during his 109 appearances. Despite this, fans clearly enjoyed it when Cabaye played for their club.

During the 2015/16 season, he averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.23/10. However, this season he has an average rating of 6.45/10 in all competitions.

While they miss him, Cayabe doesn’t appear to be the same player that he was when he left the Eagles.
